About Us, Costs, Information and Hours
It is impossible to work without every piece of evidence being available to make a professional assessment as to the suitability of our program for each client. Therefore it is requested that all medical, educational and other records are brought to the initial assessment interview and that careful consideration is given to each question on the assessment forms. All records provided are returned to the client at the interview.
Confidentiality: I understand the seriousness and responsibility I have to uphold all you discuss with me and respect this information as strictly confidential. I will not share any information I know about you to anyone without your prior written permission. There are, however, some exceptions mandated by the courts: 1) in cases where there is a reasonable suspicion you are initiating child abuse, elder abuse, or neglect; 2) if you become a danger to others or to yourself.
Hours Available: I work at one location:
15 Camden Street, off the Main South Highway, at Selwyn just north of Dunsandel.
Contact details are: Telephone 03 3254977 email: mayscott@vitalhealth.co.nz
My working days : Monday through Thursday from 9am to 6pm (others by arrangement)
The costs are:
- A hour session is $95
- An introductory session including interview, a Test of Variables of Attention and a full report of the findings is $300
- Where the program suggests multiple session per week - it is $80 per session to be paid on a weekly basis
- Ongoing TOVA tests are $120 and used as a monitor to progress of the program.
The frequency of sessions depends on what training program is to be put in place.
Cancellations
Missed sessions are understandable from time to time. Since the scheduling of an appointment involves the reservation of time specifically for you, a minimum of 12 hours (1 day) notice is required for re-scheduling or canceling an appointment. If you miss your appointment and do not call in advance, I will bill you for $90. I will go out of my way to alter my schedule when occasional conflicts arise, but late cancellations or requests for changes become mutually disruptive.
The Process of Therapy: Participating in therapy/training can result in a number of benefits to you, including improving interpersonal relationships, and resolution of the specific concerns that led you to seek therapy, training for peak achievement or finding the meditative happiness so beneficial to our lives. Psychotherapy/counseling or performance enhancement training, requires your very active involvement, honesty, and openness in order to change your thoughts, feelings or behaviour and the program only works if you also put the work into reaching the set goals.
It must be noted that biofeedback is not a panacea nor instant fix. It is a complimentary tool that when combined with the appropriate interventions and professional skills, produces powerful results. It is not intended to treat or diagnose any disease or disorder, nor replace any medical advice or treatments.
